I liked Temple of Doom! It had a kind of dark touch to it that made it cool! The only problem the movie has is Willy. She's a total bitch! And I don't know about you, but I'm not as big a Kate Capshaw fan. I'm more partial to Karen Allen and Cate Blanchett.
THIS is the worst Indiana Jones movie ever. Crystal Skull was a GOOD movie. Yes, people harp on about how you can't survive a nuclear blast within a fridge. Ok. How about surviving from a 1,000-foot-tall cliff in a raft that lands on a river and they're okay. Nobody mentions that, do they? No. They rather bitch about surviving a nuclear bomb in a fridge but falling from a tall cliff is acceptable.
Other reasons why this is the worst Indy movie: Willie Scott Short Round James Bond opening Willie Dropped a much better plot at the beginning They have no reason to go after the stones other than the fact that they've enslaved kids Enslaved children. Yes, children are suited to work in a mine Willie
If you don't like Crystal Skull, that's fine. I just don't feel obliged to hate on that movie since everyone does. Crystal Skull was a fun adventure movie which is what an Indy movie should be.
Also another thing they forget was the part where Indy was fighting a big Indian man, but then somewhere else a indian boy was carrying a Replica of a Voodoo doll of Indy and then he stabbed the doll making Indy felling the pain.
"That was Really unaceptable and also was cheating"
and yeah Shorty did help breaking the voodoo curse and the indian boy tells shorty to take the left side of the mine cart. yeah the Nostalgia Critic did forget about that scean. and yeah i love all 4 Indiana jones movie Spielberg and Lucas set in diffrent time periods, 20s Lost ark, Temple of Doom 30s, Crusade 40s And Crystal skull is in the 50s.
i love these 4 because its the aventure that i love a see Indiana Jones finding artefact's and take on Russian and nazi's and seeing him escapeing Temple's that the aventure that i love
Yeah, while I agree with the film being the...weakest of the trilogy in a way (considering that Willie was way more annoying than Short Round), but Crystal Skull was pretty forgettable...though the part with the one russian goon being eaten by ants, and the main villain's death scene, were still pretty disturbing.
It's one of those movies where you KINDA agree with the Critic but KINDA don't. It's one of those ENJOYABLY bad movies. Like the first 3 Twilights or Batman and Robin or the first Ghost Rider or Moulin Rouge. It's in my Guilty Pleasure section of movies.
Hmmmm.... this leaves me in a bit of a bind. I love Temple of Doom. It's cheesy, and falls in places, but I don't know if it deserves a tongue lashing from Doug. It feels like punching someone in the stomach for no reason apart from having an irritating voice. It feels wrong in some way. I'll might give this a watch, and I'll still watch Doug's other reviews in the future. Who knows? He might point out things about the movie that we never realised.
You DO realize that the term "bad movie" depends on a personal opinion of everyone, so you saying you stopped watching him when he started reviewing movies that weren't so bad, pretty much means, you've enjoyed him as long as his opinion reflected your's but when he started reviewing movies that you enjoyed, you ware not able to take a joke.
Personally, on of my favorite reviews are the one of movies I've enjoyed, because almost every time it ends with "I agree with the flaws you've mentioned, but I still like the movie".
And as for the "Temple of Doom" review, I've enjoyed every tiny second of it just because Nerds all around the Interwebs always bitched and complained about "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" not remembering that Indiana Jones "trilogy" is not as flawless as they think it is. And what kills me is the amount of comments here about people who got SO angry he dared to review this movie...that they wont even watch it. My advice for all of you is, take off the Nostalgia glasses, and try to see this movie for what it is, or at very least, don't hold a grudge against Doug for doing that.
Yes I DO realize that the term "bad movie" depends on a personal opinion, but does it mean I have to express it each and every time like this: "I stopped watching NC when he started to review movies that weren't so bad IN MY OPINION." I think it is more than obvious that it is my opinion (not everyone's).
Sorry to break it to you, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I liked the reviews where his opinions reflected mine. To be honest, most of the reviews I liked were about movies that I had only heard about.
I'm not going to start to write a long one about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull because there was pretty much only two things I didn't personally like about it: 1.) Computer-generated imagery (GDI) 2.) Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was (IN MY OPINION) just unnecessary.
I have watched all of the (old) Indiana Jones movies for shits and giggles and liked them. This just might be because the have so many elements that I like. In Kingdom of the Crystal Skull they seemed a bit forced (but it didn't bother me so damn much as it seemed to bother some other people).
I think it's way better that people don't watch the review if they know that they are not going to like it. Then there will be less angry comments on that video itself. But don't get me wrong either. To be more precise with my previous statement I stopped watching NC's newest videos. Maybe the sentence "I stopped following his videos." would have been more appropriate. I do still watch his older videos (like Kazaam etc.).
Nice picture by the way. (and sorry for my bad English)
Most of the people he does crossovers with are from the same website, and Brentalfloss's cameo in The Baby genius reveiw was an unexpected suprise. (Type "Tetris with lyrics" in youtube if you don't know him)
I know who brentalfloss is, then I know Linkara, Spoony, Sage, Cinema Snob, Angry Joe, Angry Videogame Nerd and that brittish dude. But these new people he's been adding, especially those two girls, Diamanda(?) and that chick from the digimon review, no clue!
The new people you don't know are also from the website,They are various people from Team TGWTG and Inked Reality, they aren't as well known as The NC but some of them have been on the site longer than NC even though it was named after him.
I love the Temple of Doom, You can agree with my Opinon.
It dose have seance of Adventure and it really puts you in the right place, The locations are really that good, unlike Crystal Skull because They use CGI Because of the poor Economy but with the 3 movies it sets diffrent places, I also loved the Mine Cart ride it made me Feel like its Rollorcoster ride and also Some Action sceans are verry Creaitve and Makes you feel like he's in perral.
The Thing that held The Glue together has to be the Ripping of the heart and the Mine cart Ride one of them is Dark and the other is Quite fun. is it that good well on the Action side yes and i do agree with The woman she can be quite annoying sometimes and the Cineese boy i felt like he is quite funny and entertaining charecter.
so which Jones movie do i like well All 4 of them cause i love Action and the sence of Adventure, Ill do give credit to Lucas and Spilberg cause they try verry hard and give Them Credit for Trying. So that's my oppinion
I was wondering, too: Why a good, famous movie like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? Until I remembered his "Top 11 Damsel in distress" video...and now I can guess really well what he has to talk about Well, I'll watch this and let him surprise me.
Now to your title card: I love the fire-like colours, the rocks' design and the skull, of course
